After having sanded the oilcloth of the board, I do apply a coat of size on each side. I then repeat it a second time. It is important to let it dry on a flat surface and to isolate the board from the underneath surface with some paper in order to avoid the panel from getting stuck. Instead of going through all the gesso process, I just give two coats of size. As priming, I then give a first rough coat of egg Tempera using Emulsion A with a wide brush.
Priplak is polypropylene in sheet. It is available in different colors. It is used by folders manufacturer where you can get them from. I have been doing satisfying test by painting directly on the sanded surface.
Saponified Wax on Priplac
Forex panel is a kind of wood substitute made of lightly expanded closed cells of plastic material. It is available in different thickness and colors. According to the manufacturer, Alusuisse Airex AG, one must apply a coat of size called primer. I personally sand it and apply a caparol solution before a first coat of Egg Tempera Emulsion A paint with a wide brush.
